At present the Valles Group operates a fleet of two panamax bulk carriers and ten Aframax tankers with an enviable fleet age. Valles has on order with Chinese shipyards three MR Product / Chemical tankers.

Valles' fleet management style has always been pro-active and the highest importance is paid to fleet maintenance and operations, a fact long recognized by Valles' Charterers and competitors. Valles incorporated Total Quality Management and the ISM Code long before it became mandatory to do so.

The Groups leadership has always exhibited a cautious and enterprising outlook. Succession took place after many years of carefully planned training and just as the present Managing Director, Mr David Koo, was trained by his father since he was a young boy in all aspects of shipping be they repair, maintenance, new building or commercial operations and moving up the ladder through various positions in the Group, so too was the father trained by the grandfather.

Valles believes that good market timing and human relationship are keys to success in any business, particularly in shipping. While good market timing demands luck along with good evaluation of market information, well established relationships with employees, lenders, charterers, and others will pull a company through difficult time and enable it to prosper in good one.

Valles is a privately held Company and is owned and operated by the Koo family.
